Postponing your event to another date
Change the date of the existing session, never create a new event, then notify buyers: their tickets remain valid.
A postponement keeps the same tickets, the same ticket types and the same page. Do not recreate the event: buyers would stay on the old page.
- Open the event then Évènement › Dates et lieux (Event › Dates and venues), and edit the session concerned: new date and new times.
- Save. The sales dates of the ticket types for this session are shifted by the same amount, and the event's payout is put on hold while the change is checked.
- A window offers to notify buyers by WhatsApp: it shows how many can be reached and how many orders have no number. Add details if needed, then start sending. You decide whether to send it.
- Answer questions in Messages and handle requests in Ventes › Remboursements (Sales › Refunds).
Special cases
I do not have the new date yet.
Announce the postponement to the back-office assistant: the event switches to « Reporté » (Postponed) and the payout is put on hold. As soon as you save the new date, the event returns to its previous status.
A buyer cannot come on the new date.
A change of date or venue made after their purchase entitles them to a refund. They request it from their account (reason « évènement reporté », event postponed); accept their request in Ventes › Remboursements (Sales › Refunds).
The venue is changing too.
Change the venue in Dates et lieux (Dates and venues): the payout is also put on hold, and you can notify buyers of the new venue.
I want to offer a choice between a refund and another date.
Use Ventes › Annulation ou report (Sales › Cancellation or postponement): each buyer chooses between a refund and a place at another of your upcoming events.
